History G20

The Group of 20 (or G20) is an economic forum that was created in 1999, after the succession of financial crises in the 1990s. It aims to promote international dialogue, incorporating the principle of a wider dialogue taking into account the growing economic weight taken by a number of countries. The G20 represents two thirds of trade and the world's population and over 90% of gross world product (sum of GDP of all countries worldwide).

On November 15, 2008, for the first time in its history, it is the Heads of State and Government met and not only the finance ministers. Currently the G20 meets in three forms: the G20 gathering of Heads of State and Government, the G20 finance ministers gathering of finance and central bank governors, and since the 20-21/avril 2010, G20 social bringing together ministers of employment.
